Trinity Institution

TRINITY INSTITUTION was incorporated by its founder, the Reverend Creighton R. Storey, in 1921 as a Community Center to meet the many needs of the residents of the South End of Albany. Its precepts and values were rooted in the Judeo-Christian principles of faith, love and caring for all.   Today, Trinity Institution-Homer Perkins Center, Inc. continues Reverend Storey's mission to provide services to the community that will support and promote healthy families, adults and children, including efforts to assist in restoring dignity and respect to individuals and families.

Trinity Institution-Homer Perkins Center, Inc. is dedicated to improving the neighborhood as a setting for family life, strengthening family life, assisting in the development of family and youth, and promoting education and employment as a means of self development and realization.

Homer Perkins Center

HOMER PERKINS CENTER was incorporated in 1992. It is a 20 bed co-ed drug treatment facility licensed and funded by the State of New York Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The center was named in memory of an Arbor Hill community leader, Mr. Homer Perkins, who provided many years of counsel and leadership to its residents.

In January 1998, Trinity Institution and Homer Perkins Center were legally merged to form the current corporation to establish a stronger integrated multi-social service agency. Today, Trinity Institution-Homer Perkins Center, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit, non-sectarian, social service agency devoted to meeting many of the social, economic and educational needs of the community, to improve the neighborhood as a setting for family life, strengthen family life and to assist in the social and educational development of children and youth.

Arbor Hill Community Center, Inc.

The ARBOR HILL COMMUNITY CENTER, INC. is a sister agency to Trinity Institution-Homer Perkins Center, Inc. and is overseen by the same Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer.   The mission of our agency is, “To provide services to the community that will support and promote healthy families, adults and children.  Our agency is dedicated to improving the neighborhood as a setting for family life, contributing to health and well-being, and promoting education and employment as a means of self-development.”
